HouseProjectCalc is an independent home-improvement resource. Our goal is simple: help homeowners walk into a contractor conversation already knowing what a project should cost. Too many people get a single quote with no way to judge whether it is fair. Our calculators give you a realistic price range first.

How our estimates work

Each calculator starts from a current national-average cost for that project, then adjusts for the choices that actually move the price: the size of the job, the materials or grade you pick, the scope of work, and your region. We show the result as a low-to-high range because real projects vary, and no honest estimate is a single number.

Our cost figures are researched, plain-English placeholders that we keep current. They are meant for planning. They are not quotes, bids, or offers, and they are not a substitute for a written estimate from a licensed contractor who has seen your project.

How we keep the site free

HouseProjectCalc is free to use. When you ask to be matched with local professionals, we may share your project request with home-improvement providers who can give you quotes, and we may be compensated for that referral. You are never obligated to hire anyone, and using our calculators never requires you to submit your information.
